There are lots of different spring break destinations to choose from, whether you’re looking for somewhere hot and sunny, or somewhere cool and adventurous, there’s a destination for everyone.
Below, we’ve compiled a list of some of the very best destinations in the US that you can visit this year for spring break. This guide isn’t comprehensive by any means, and there are lots of places to choose from.
But, we’ve selected some of the very best, to give you the unforgettable experience you deserve. So, to find out some amazing spring break destinations, simply keep reading below, as we take a closer look.
1. Miami, Florida
So, are you ready to visit one of the most breathtaking and diverse locations of your life? If so, then we suggest that you head out to warm and sunny Miami. There are so many great things to do whilst you’re here, including traversing the glorious beaches.
With lots of white sand between your toes, and expanses of ocean, you’re going to love reclining and relaxing, getting away from the stressors of everyday life. You can even take a bike tour around the beaches themselves, so you don’t tucker yourself out.
You can take a trip to Everglades National Park, which is known for being one of the most beautiful natural locations in the world. Here, you can take an exciting boat trip down the lake, and try your luck at spotting one of the native animals, like crocodiles, turtles, or even panthers.
There are also lots of great malls there too, one of which, called the Dolphin, houses over 240 stores, so you could even spend an entire day shopping if you wanted to.
What about trying some paddle boarding? You can take a trip out and enjoy having fun practicing something new. There are also a wealth of museums, one of which, called the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum, holds lots of exciting exhibitions.
They have recreations of tons of dinosaurs, and they have a room where you can do some star gazing. In addition, they also have a large aquarium, where you can get up close and personal with lots of different fish species.
If history is your thing, then you simply have to visit the ancient Spanish monastery found in Miami, it’s an incredible place, and dates way back to 1141. You can witness the amazing architecture of the abbey, which transports you to a different land.
Finally, you’ll also want to make sure that you sample the local cuisine, because it’s absolutely to die for. Over half of the populus of Miami are made up of Cuban people, and you can see this influence in the food.
With plenty of delicious, tender meats, and freshly baked breads, you’ll be salivating over the cuisine.
2. Palm Springs, California
Palm Springs is known to be one of the most relaxing vacations in the world. It’s the place that Hollywood celebrities vacate to when they want to chill out, take a dip in the pool, and play some tennis.
If you too want to partake in this life of luxury, then you’re going to have to make your way here. It has a wealth of different zoos, including the Living Desert zoo and garden, which is known for emulating natural African and North American environments.
It has giraffes, hoofed animals, and lots of wild cats. If you’re a plant lover, make sure that you take a trip to Moorten Botanical gardens, which houses a wealth of different unusual plant species.
We promise that some of the plants you see on display here, you’ll be unlikely to ever see again. If you want to take a walk to a truly spectacular location, then you’re going to need to visit the Tahquitz Canyon.
It has a 50 foot waterfall, which is a true marvel to witness. The trail itself is very well maintained, so you won’t struggle over any dangerous pathways.
If you want to witness one of the most luxurious locations in Palm Springs, then you should take a walk over to Palm Canyon Drive. It has some of the most interesting little stores (alberit, expensive!) and museums you’ll see.
Indeed, you can’t take a walk down Palm Canyon Drive without seeing something that catches your eye. If you want to witness some of the most luxurious and expensive homes in the area, then you’ll have to take a drive down the Tennis Club neighborhood.
Although you can’t exactly take a good look around (because people actually live here), you can peruse the neighborhood, and witness some of the amazing architectural designs on display.
Finally, if you want to witness some of the best views you’ve ever seen in your life, then you absolutely need to take a trip down the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
You can see the whole of Coachella Valley, and even stop at one of the cafes and restaurants located on the top of the mountain.
3. New Orleans, Louisiana
If you’ve never visited New Orleans before, well, let us tell you, you’re in for a real treat. It’s incredibly unique, and we can guarantee you’ll never see similar architecture elsewhere, or taste food that’s quite the same.
There are lots of bars and restaurants that run all along the street, and you’re legally allowed to drink publicly along the streets, which is the reason why it’s considered party central. This place really comes alive at night, and you’ll witness all kinds of shenanigans.
You simply have to take a trip down Frenchman Street, which is the coolest place in town. It’s where all the locals go to drink and enjoy a good meal. It houses some of the very best live performances and musical acts you’ll ever see.
One of the most interesting things about Frenchman Street is that it actually has an indoor market, so you can actually browse some interesting items at the end of the evening, and have fun looking at all the unusual things on display.
If you’re a history fan, then let us tell you, you’re in for a big treat. New Orleans houses one of the biggest world war 2 museums in the entire world. It features real jeeps and planes that actually partook in the war.
As well as this, you’ll find real stories and recollections from people who served. It even contains a theater that houses musical performances that are authentic to the era. In addition, there’s a gift shop selling items reminiscent of the 1940s.
So, if you want to be transported back to this fascinating era, all you have to do is visit this glorious museum. If you want to witness some culture, then you’re going to need to visit the New Orleans Museum of Art.
Unlike many other museums, which are either focused on a particular style or era of art, this museum houses displays dating back to the renaissance, all the way to modern day.
It houses incredible artists such as Monet and O’Keefe, so if you’re a true art lover, you’re going to adore this place. If you want to visit one of the most luxurious cafes in the area, then you need to go to Cafe Du Monde.
Cafe Du Monde has some of the most incredible pastry items in town, and if you don’t end up with lots of powdered sugar around your mouth, you’re doing things wrong.
It’s also the perfect place to do some people watching, so we suggest that if you want to guarantee yourself a spot here, that you show up early in the day.
4. San Francisco, California
If you feel like taking a city break, we can think of no better place than San Francisco in California. It has a reputation for being one of the most interesting and vibrant cities in the entire world, and you definitely won’t be strapped for things to do.
It has the perfect mixture of urban living and natural scenery, which make it an incredibly diverse location. So, where should your trip begin? Only with one of the most iconic pieces of architecture in the entire world – the Golden Gate bridge.
This 76 foot tall expanse of burnt orange architecture is known for being breathtaking to behold, and it’s not hard to see why. Surrounded by mountainous greenery, it can even be seen on foggy days. Another super interesting place you have to visit is Alcatraz Island.
It’s a place where they keep maximum security prisoners, and on your guided tour, narrated by former prisoners, you’ll be told stories about some of the most fascinating escape attempts.
It can be fun to do this tour during the nighttime, as it also runs at later hours, albeit it can be a tad creepy. Make sure that you’re always taking plenty of extra layers with you, as the fog can be merciless.
Another incredible and famous location you should make a visit to is the iconic Golden Gate Park. Believe it or not, this park is actually significantly larger than Central Park in New York, and houses a whole host of interesting items.
You can visit Shakespeare’s museum here, or simply take a look at the botanical garden, which looks magnificent during the spring and summer months.
If you want to taste some delicious food native to San Francisco, then we suggest that you take a trip to La Taqueria, which is home to the burrito. That’s right, many claim that the burrito we know and love today actually originated in this very place.
So, if you want to taste the very best burrito of your life, you’re simply going to have to go here. If you want to see something truly unique, then you should take a promenade around the Chinese gardens.
Truly beautiful to behold, they’re a natural wonder which house cherry blossoms, stone paths, and peaceful streams. If you want to sit down and have a cup of tea to admire the view, you can do this right here.
They also serve fortune cookies, and we promise they’re absolutely delicious. In fact, it’s this very place that was said to have first introduced fortune cookies to the US.
If you want to have a little fun, you could embark on one of the many amazing whale tours that the city has to offer. It gives you the chance to get up close and personal, by taking a boat ride to a location that’s known to hold over 20,000 gray whales beneath the surface.
You’ll also get to see some cute little puffins, which are also native to this area. Finally, before you leave this glorious destination, you’re going to have to take a ride on one of the cable cars.
Dating back to the 1800’s, these cable cars are a real marvel. You can simply hop on and hop off depending on the location you want to get to. It’s a great way to experience a little chunk of history.
5. Oahu, Hawaii
If you’re looking for a true relaxation vacation, then you’re going to need to visit Oahu in Hawaii. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places in the entire world.
One of the best places is Hanauma Bay, which is a gorgeous expanse of beach, which has the bluest, crystal clear sea, and soft, pale sand. You can literally swim around with the tropical fish which are native to the area, which is an incredibly exciting experience.
Make sure however, that you get here early enough in the day in order to guarantee a parking spot, as it can get incredibly crowded. It’s also closed on select days during the week in order to make sure that the fish get a rest from the crowds.
If you want to see a truly spectacular piece of architecture during your stay, one of the most magnificent places is Iolani Palace. That’s right, as if this gorgeous destination couldn’t get even more beautiful, you have a glorious gilded palace in your midst.
It used to house the rulers of Hawaii, until they were overthrown by plantation owners.
Hawaiian history is often unfamiliar territory for a lot of us, so it’s interesting to witness this place, and even take a guided tour around the palace to get a better understanding of its fascinating past.
You can also enjoy reclining on the large expanse of lawn which resides outside the palace, and makes the perfect backdrop for that Instagram worthy post that will be the envy of all your friends.
One of the things that you simply have to do whilst you’re there is to go surfing. Although it’s tricky to pick up, this doesn’t mean that you can’t give it a try, and have fun with your friends in the process.
In addition, they have instructors who can teach you how to perfect your posture. If you feel like taking a hike in order to witness some of the beautiful scenery, then you should definitely follow the trail up to Kaena Point.
It’s a five mile trip that goes the whole way round, and has an interesting backstory. Those native to the area believe Kaena Point to be a sacred place.
It’s known for being the ‘leaping place of souls’, and where spirits who have passed over get to meet their ancestors for the very first time. Another fun outdoor activity you can do is to go ocean diving. If you love to explore, then this is an experience that you’ll never forget.
You can swim in the open sea with thousands of different fish, as well as some sharks. That’s right! With careful instruction, you can actually enjoy swimming with some friendly sharks, which are very misunderstood creatures.
Another fun activity you can do is to visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens, which house a whole host of different plant species, some of which you’re likely never to come across again.
As well as this, if you’re a bird lover, then you’re going to adore seeing all of the different species that this place contains. There are over two dozen species, in fact. Finally, you simply have to visit the coffee farm in Green World, if you’re a big coffee lover.
This place has a wealth of coffee fields you can walk through, and has tons of samples of delicious brews. You can choose your favorite beans to take home to remind you of this gorgeous location.
6. Savannah, Georgia
Savannah is considered to be one of the most beautiful and historical places in the South. It has a wealth of history embedded in its culture, and is well known for being the person who created Girl Scouts.
When you visit, one of the first things you’re going to need to do is make a visit to Forsyth park. It’s an absolutely stunning location, and has a charming, lush green landscape that is a wonder to behold.
It’s over 30 acres long, and has lots of different plant species and flowers scattered throughout its expanse. They regularly hold concerts here, so if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see some live music being performed whilst you recline on the grass.
As well as this, depending on the day of the week, they have a farmer’s market which sells all kinds of different foods, as well as interesting and unique items you won’t get anywhere else.
If you really want to take in the place, then we’d recommend that you hop onto one of the trolley tours that run regularly through the place. These trolley tours take you through the whole of Savannah, and you can simply hop on and off depending on where you want to go.
Make sure that you go to the city market, which runs regularly and sells some amazing food items, pieces of artwork, and odd and ends.
Make sure that you go earlier in the day if you want to have a more peaceful browsing experience, as there are lots of local bars nearby, and the locals can get a little rowdy during the evening. If you know your architecture quite well, then you’ll know all about the English Regency.
These decadent buildings from the past are truly a sight to behold, and scream luxury. If you’ve never been to Savannah before, then you probably haven’t seen the Owens Thomas House, which is an example of English Regency architecture at its best.
You can visit the space outside the house for the carriage, as well as go inside and traverse the house, including the slaves quarters which are around the back. If you’re very much into cathedrals, then the city is known for having one of the most beautiful ones around.
Called the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, it’s an incredible building that towers over the city, and you’ll marvel at just how tall it is.
7. Disneyland, California
If you want to revisit your childhood in the very best way possible, then you’re going to have to go to Disneyland this spring break. Known for being one of the happiest places on earth, it’s not hard to see why grownups and kids alike adore this location.
Also, visiting during spring break means that you can soak up the food and wine festival which is held yearly during this time.
During the food festival, you’ll also have the opportunity to witness some amazing live performances, which run all the way through the day into the night. It’s really the perfect time to visit this exciting location.
Have fun visiting the park, and witnessing some of your favorite characters up close and personal. They traverse the park regularly interacting with the crowds, so if you’re looking for some great photo opportunities, you’re bound to get them.
There are also a whole host of different rides that you can enjoy too, one of the best being Star Wars: The Rise of the Resistance. On this ride, you’re transported to a galaxy far far away, where you traverse through caves housed by the resistance.
Red laser beams will shoot at you, but before you have a chance to marvel at the realistic nature of the ride, you’ll move at a fast pace into the next room.
As well as this, Disneyland is home to the ever famous Space Mountain, which coasts you through a pitch black sky in this ride that emulates a rocket ship. Jump on board if you dare.
8. Las Vegas, Nevada
We couldn’t create a list for the perfect spring break locations without mentioning the glory that is Las Vegas. If this destination has been on your bucket list for a long time, then we recommend that you take the plunge and enjoy soaking up the gloriously decadent atmosphere.
If you want to see one of the most iconic things that the city has to offer, then you’re going to have to visit Caesars Palace, which is known for being one of the oldest buildings in the whole city.
Take a wander through the glorious marble architecture, and if you’re feeling lucky, why not place a few bets? Another place you’re going to need to visit is The Venetian, which is known for being an iconic space that houses a resort and entertainment complex.
There are lots of activities that you can take part in here, including visiting the huge gondolas, which you can take a ride in. Be sure to visit the Atomic Testing Museum, which is unlike any other museum in the world.
This is known for housing some of the most interesting pieces of American nuclear weapons. It shows how these devices were developed over time, and breaks down the entire history.
If you want to do something a little more unique during your stay, then why not visit the pinball museum? The pinball museum houses some of the world’s oldest pinball machines.
You can even play a lot of these yourself, so if you’re an aficionado, you’re going to have a ball, a pin-ball that is. If entertainment is what you’re after, then you can book a show at Park Theater ahead of your visit.
It’s one of the best venues for live entertainment, and has seen some of the best performers in the world strut their stuff on stage. Depending on when you’re going, you might be able to see performances by Lady Gaga, Cher, or Bruno Mars, to name just a few.
This venue can house up to 5,200 people, so it’s incredibly vast. If you have the funds, you can book seating in the VIP area, which comes with a cocktail service.
9. San Diego, California
If you want the perfect mix of sunny beaches, delicious Mexican food and plenty of activities to keep you occupied, then you should definitely go to San Diego this spring break. One of the first things you should do when you arrive is to go to the San Diego zoo.
This zoo is incredibly well known and houses lots of unusual animals. You’ll be able to see giant pandas, as well as komodo dragons, which are incredibly rare. The zoo also offers lots of different experiences for its guests, including something called a ‘zookeeper experience.’
This experience allows you to arrive early in the park, and witness the zoo itself in the quiet hours before opening. You’ll get to handle some of the animals yourself, and enjoy fulfilling your childhood dream. When in San Diego, you’ll have to take a trip to Belmont Park.
This one is particularly great for those who are lovers of amusement parks, as this one is incredibly old, and has lots of vintage rides. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported into an old Hollywood movie here.
If you want to sample some of the very best foods that San Diego has to offer, then you’ll need to visit the neighborhood called La Jolla. This quaint little neighborhood is full of interesting houses, and also contains some of the finest dining experiences you’ll ever have.
Here you’ll also find the Legends gallery, which houses lots of interesting pieces of art, including those featured in the Dr. Seuss books we all loved as children. If you want to experience the best views imaginable, then we’d recommend that you take a trip on the gliderports.
You’re strapped in, and taken away on a glorious journey through the air. It’s incredibly exhilarating, and you’ll be able to take in the sweeping expanses. If you’re a baseball fan, then you’re in luck, because San Diego is home of Petco Park, which is a large stadium.
You’ll be able to enjoy a host of other things here apart from baseball, including lots of fun dining places, and places to shop. Del Mar Racetrack is another fantastic place to visit if you’re looking to tick something off your bucket list.
That’s right, you don’t need to travel to England to feel as though you’re a wealthy older lady placing her bets. The racetrack here was actually opened way back in 1937 by singer Bing Crosby, so it’s a little piece of history too.
10. Boulder, Colorado
If you’re looking to visit somewhere that has a cooler climate this spring break, then we’d recommend that you take a trip to Boulder, located in Colorado. It’s known for being one of the most beautiful natural locations in the whole of the US, and it’s really not hard to see why.
When you visit Boulder, one of the first things you’re going to have to do is to take a hike on Flagstaff Mountain. This gorgeous mountain only consists of a 2.1 mile hike, so it’s not too long if you don’t feel like doing a lot of walking that particular day.
At the end of the trail, you’ll find a little restaurant, where you can rest your weary bones and indulge in some delicious food before heading back. If you want to go to one of the most famous mall complexes in the entire world, you’re going to need to visit Pearl Street mall.
This mall is famous for holding such a diverse range of stores, and also a whole host of eating establishments. It truly has everything, whether you’re in the mood for Asian cuisine, or an Italian pizza, or anything in between.
When you’re there, you’re going to also have to visit the Boulder Museum. It might be good to visit this place early on, and it has a great deal of history about the city of Boulder. As well as this, it regularly features interesting exhibitions and displays that you can enjoy.
On days when you’re not feeling like a long hike, simply take a stroll down Boulder Creek. It’s an incredibly scenic and easy walk, and allows you to take in the beauty of the nearby creeks whilst you sip a hot beverage.
If you really want to get involved with everything that makes Colorada what it is, then you’ll need to check out the craft beer scene. With lots of popular varieties such as Upslope and Avery, there are plenty of delicious beers out there you can sample.
Another thing you’ll need to check off your list when you visit Boulder, is to go to Lolita’s Market, which is known to house some of the very best local produce around. You can buy fresh food, and on occasion, witness live performances as you browse.
If you want to visit one of the most popular destinations in the area, Rocky Mountain National Park is only a 45 minute drive away from Boulder, so you can definitely put this on the list too.
11. Chicago, Illinois
If you’ve never been to the glorious windy city before, then why not consider it as a possible destination this spring break. Chicago is known to be one of the most exciting cities around, and full of history too.
To witness one of the most spectacular art museums you’ve ever been to in your life, you’re going to visit the Art Institute of Chicago. It’s incredibly iconic, and outside you’ll see it focalized by two huge bronze lions.
If you want to see some of the most famous paintings in the entire world, then you’re going to love it here. It features paintings from the likes of Andy Warhol and Grant Wood. You’re going to feel just like Ferris Bueller when you step inside here.
If you want to witness some true Chicago jazz on your evening out, then you need to go to the Green Mill. It’s known for hosting a wealth of fantastic jazz performances that are sure to keep your feet tapping.
It’s also a piece of history, as many famous people enjoyed frequenting this space, including Al Capone. If you want to witness some amazing historical exhibitions, then be sure to pop into the Field Museum.
The Field Museum is known for its colossal size, and it houses huge anthropological exhibitions that you won’t see anywhere else.
They actually have real tombs with mummies encased inside their Egypt exhibition, so if you find this period in history thrilling, you’re going to love it here. If you’re into outer space, then you can take a trip to the Adler Planetarium.
You’ll be amazed at the massive expanse of sky and stars, as you gaze into the galaxy in this spectacular exhibition. The telescope is free for the public to use, so you can have fun playing around and gazing.
Depending on when you’re going, you might also be able to witness a performance from the Chicago symphony orchestra. The tickets can be pricey, but if you’re a lover of all things classical, then it’s completely worth the cost.
12. Austin, Texas
If you want to visit the most iconic place in the South this spring break, then you’re going to need to take a vacation to Austin, in Texas. One of the key things you’re going to need to do during your stay is visit the iconic Barton Springs.
Something you probably already know about Texas is that it gets incredibly hot, and this is the perfect place to cool off and chill in the grass for a while. If you want to visit one of the most legendary places in Austin, then we’d recommend that you go to the Barton Theatre.
This theater is actually known to be the oldest theater in the entirety of Austin, and dates back to the early 20s. You’ll feel just like a glamorous movie star of yesteryear when you step into this gorgeous space.
Now, we couldn’t mention a visit to Austin without talking about all the amazing food that’s on offer. If you want to sample the local cuisine, then we’d recommend that you head over to Franklin BBQ, which is considered to be one of the most iconic in the whole of Austin.
As you can imagine, it has gorgeous, juicy grilled meats, and seasonings that are famous the land over. If you decide to go here however, be prepared to wait in a queue for a while, as almost everyone wants to sample some of the delicious foods prepared here.
Another great food recommendation is Walton’s Fancy and Staple, which serves everything from breakfast to dinner. It’s actually owned by Sandra Bullock herself.
If you want to truly feel as though you’ve stepped foot in Texas, then before you go, you need to head into Allen’s Boots. Allen’s Boots is an establishment that has been selling high quality leather boots for decades.
It’s really interesting to take a look around, as they essentially have a boot for every occasion, believe it or not.
13. Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston has actually been voted one of the best places for tourists to visit. The locals are known for their incredibly friendly nature, and their hospitable attitude.
As well as this, Charleston is also brimming with plenty of unique bars and restaurants that will keep you satisfied throughout your trip. One of the first things you need to do when you arrive is visit their famous distillery, called High Wire.
It’s actually known as being the first distillery to open since the prohibition laws eased up. As well as being able to witness the amazing copper equipment they use, you can also find out more about the science of distilling.
After you’ve visited this place, you can move on to discover more about the area at the Charleston Museum. It’s fairly large, and also a great place to cool off from the heat outside.
It has a lot of interesting information about the cultural background of Charleston, and also holds lots of information about the natural environment surrounding the area.
One of the most interesting things you can do whilst you’re here is to jump on board a horse tour! That’s right, you don’t even have to work up a sweat walking in the heat all day.
If you simply jump on a horse and carriage ride, you can cruise around the area with a tour guide, who will give you all the information you need. Have fun feeling like an elegant lady or gentleman from yesteryear.
If you want to find somewhere to chill out and pamper yourself whilst you’re in Charleston, then we’d recommend heading out to Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
They’ve got everything here, from luxury massages, to facial treatments, to expansive tennis grounds to play a few rounds.
The golf resort is approximately a 45 minute drive from Charleston, so we recommend that you visit here on your way back, so that you have an extra night somewhere before heading home from your vacation.
14. St. Petersburg, Florida
If you want to visit somewhere warm and welcoming, but with all the attractions and thrills granted by a bigger city, then we’d recommend that you take a trip to St. Petersburg in Florida.
This place is known for being incredibly charming in terms of architecture, and also has plenty of activities to keep you entertained throughout the day. When you visit, one of your first stops should be the Salvador Dali museum.
That’s right, if you’re a fan of this artist, or just modern art in general, you’ll absolutely need to visit here. You won’t believe how many Dali pieces are housed in this museum, as there are actually thousands.
There are documents from the writer’s life that give insight into who and what he was like as a person, as well as plenty of information about his artistic process too. You’re in for a real treat when you visit this little gem.
After you’ve been here, why not try something a little different, and take a segway tour? When we’re on vacation, we’re all used to taking bus or walking tours, but the use of a segway combines these two different modes of transportation into something fun and unique.
Another fun thing that you can do whilst you’re in this gorgeous city is to take part in an escape room. Outerlife Studios, which is known as being one of the most popular in the US, is housed in St. Petersburg.
So, if you want something a little more engaged, and involves getting your thinking cap on, you should definitely come here. They have lots of different rooms, each of which varies in terms of difficulty.
We’d recommend taking part in an escape room if you’re traveling with a few friends, as they’re fun to do in larger groups. If you feel like stretching your legs and getting a little exercise while you’re here, then you can go on the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve night hike.
A night hike? We hear you say. That’s right, you head out on this hike when the sky has darkened. This allows you to examine more of the natural beauty on display in the preserve, as many of the animals native to the area are nocturnal. You’ll be up close and personal with nature.
15. Enchanted Rock State Area, Texas
If you want somewhere where you can partake in a whole host of physical activities, then we’d recommend taking a trip to Texas Hill Country, which is renowned for its natural beauty. Here, you can go horseback riding, you can go on vast hikes, camp, and go mountain biking.

These caverns actually take you underground, where you can witness rock formations that have been there for thousands of years. After you’re done exploring, we’d recommend that you head out to Enchanted Rock.
The reason why the place has this mesmerizing name is because the people native to the area have been in awe and in wonder of its beauty for centuries. The hike isn’t too difficult, and will take you approximately an hour to walk, depending on your speed.
Once you arrive however, you’ll be gifted by the spectacular views, and you’ll be standing over 425 feet tall. If you feel like participating in an activity that will leave you feeling fancy, then you can go on a wine tasting tour.
You can actually witness the entire wine making process during these tours, and see the wine being produced in the vineyards. This place actually has approximately 100 wineries, so if you’re a big fan, then you’re truly in luck.
Have fun sampling all of the different varieties, and then purchasing a few bottles to take back and enjoy. Another thing you can enjoy whilst you’re here is immersing yourself in German culture.
During the 19th century, there were a host of German immigrants who moved to Texas Hill Country, and you can still find the influence there today. Why not visit a few German based restaurants and sample the delicious cuisine, or try a stein of German beer?
Go to Canyon Lake if you want to spend an entire day unwinding and taking in the views. You can truly wile away the hours here by fishing, renting a boat for you and your friends, or going snorkeling.
That’s right you can even go scuba diving here, and it’s a great opportunity to witness all of the different varieties of sea life underneath those glistening waves. Now, we know that if you’re planning on visiting Texas, that you’d probably like a recommendation for BBQ food.
If that’s the case, then we’d definitely recommend that you head out to Lockhart. This area is known as being the BBQ food capital of texas, and you’ll find a whole host of different eateries here, including Kreuz Market and Black Barbecue.
It’s interesting as these restaurants take their barbecue food incredibly seriously, and each of the establishments here have been rivals for decades. Choose your pit stop carefully!
Before you leave the area, we have to absolutely recommend that you visit the Legendary Hamilton Pool. This natural wonder is truly a sight to behold, and we’re in love with this gorgeous cavern.
The only issue is that everyone wants to visit here when they’re on vacation, so chances are that you’ll be waiting a little while for your turn to come around.
16. Sedona, Arizona
If you want to visit what is likely the most beautiful place in the whole of Arizona, then we’d recommend that you head over to Sedona. We promise that you won’t regret it. The interesting thing about Sedona, is that it’s actually widely regarded as a spiritual wellness retreat.
So, if life has been heavy recently, or you’ve not been feeling yourself, coming here might just be the thing to make you feel better. It’s full of amazing natural wonders, with highly unique rock formations, and has lots of little chapels that are beautiful to behold.
If you’re looking to truly relax and unwind, you’ll also be able to find a number of spas here to keep you occupied. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxing back massage or a rejuvenating facial, there’s something here for everybody.
One of the most fun and unique things you can do whilst you’re here is to embark on a jeep tour. That’s right, you’ll be seated next to a professional driver who is well acquainted with the area, and you’ll cruise around in your jeep whilst they tell you all about Sedona.
One of the major landmarks that we suggest you visit while you’re here is the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The Chapel of the Holy Cross is known for being an architectural marvel, and you’ll actually find it seated between two natural red rock formations.
This chapel was actually built during the 1950’s, by an ingenious sculptor known as Marguerite Brunswig. We promise that you’ll be in awe of this amazing place, as it’s absolutely breathtaking.
If you want a fun day visiting some unique stores, then you’ll have to take a walk through Tlaquepaque arts and shopping village. In this village, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another world, and it’s incredibly vibrant, brightly colored, and surreal in nature.
It was constructed during the latter portion of the 1970s, and remains largely unchanged by time.
When you walk down this glorious street, you’ll find all manner of different arts and craft stories, which display works of art created by local artists, as well as lots of supplies that you yourself can purchase.
Sometimes, as you walk down the street, you can even witness some of the region’s most popular artists working on something in real time. Remember how we said that Sedona was often a place people went for spiritual wellness, well, it’s not hard to see why.
Whilst you’re here, you’re going to need to make a visit to the Energy Vortex Sites. Don’t know what those are? Well, allow us to explain.
Spiritualists claim that at specific points, there are energy vortexes in the ground, which vibrate and change the shape and nature of the rocks beneath. When you stand in these spots, you can feel the power of the universe coursing through your body.
Many people come to meditate on these specific spots, or simply stand there in order to feel the rush of energy. These spots are also believed to have healing properties too, so it’s worth visiting to see if you feel the effects of the area.
Before you leave this gorgeous part of the US, make sure that you make a visit to Cathedral Rock. It’s a well known area of natural beauty, and you’ll adore partaking in some of the activities they have on offer.
You can actually go horseback riding in this gorgeous place. Don’t worry if you’ve never had lessons before, as they have trained guides who can help you on your way.
17. Houston, Texas
Now, we couldn’t create a list of our very favorite spring break vacations without including Houston, could we? Houston is well known for being the capital of Texas, and is full of exciting culture, being housed right next to the gulf of Mexico.
There’s so much to do and see here, not to mention the food, which is absolutely glorious and will make you want to move here so you can eat it forever!
When you first visit Houston, we’d recommend that you take in one of its most beautiful natural locations, which is called Hermann park. It’s absolutely gorgeous in the spring, and you’ll get to see all the trees and the foliage blooming.
There are also a few little great spots for lunch which are located nearby, so you can appreciate the beauty of the area whilst enjoying a cup of coffee.
If you feel like taking part in a little bit of an educational experience, the Museum of Natural Science, and the Holocaust museum are both housed right next to the park, so it’s a great place to wander over to.
Whilst you’re here, you should also make sure that you make a visit to the space center, which is probably the topmost attraction of the area.
You can witness first hand over 400 amazing artifacts which tell you all about America’s space flights, as well as this, they also have hundreds of interesting displays.
They have movie players within the space center, so you can replay some of the most amazing and awe inspiring moments in American space flight history.
After you’re done at the space center, then you can move on to take a look at some of the amazing sea animals in the Downtown Aquarium. This aquarium is truly a wonder to behold, and has 200 species of different aquatic animals.
You can get up close and personal and see these amazing creatures like you never have before. As well as the actual aquarium, there is also a shopping center, bar, and restaurant upstairs, so that you can relax after a full day of exploring.
There are also some great rides for the kids too, so they can enjoy some fun aquatic based activities. If you want to engage in a day of pure fun, then we’d recommend that you head over to Speedy’s Fast Track.
It’s essentially a massive arcade that has all manner of fun games that you can play. From pin ball to laser tag, they have everything you need in this place of joy.
18. Denver, Colorado
If you want to visit somewhere that combines the great outdoors along with high class art and outstanding eateries, then you’ve come to the right place.
Denver, Colorado is renowned for all of these things, and we can guarantee you won’t be strapped for things to do during your stay. When you first arrive, after you’ve unpacked, you can head out and visit the Denver Art Museum.
This art museum is internationally renowned, and holds Western and Native American art. It also has a few works of art from Monet, so if you’re a big fan, be sure to stop over here.
After you’ve stopped over at the art museum, you can carry on with a day of relaxation and visit the Denver Botanical Gardens.
These gardens are known for having thousands of different plant species, some of the most remarkable being their orchids, which you’ll be able to witness first hand during the spring.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is great if you want to witness one of the most breathtaking live performances of your life. Set right in the center of red rock formations, you’ll be in absolute awe of this venue, which is truly like no other in the entire world.
If you want to partake in a little history lesson, why not visit the Molly Brown House museum. This museum takes you through a historical Victorian manor, which tells you all about the unsinkable Molly Brown, who is a fascinating figure who survived the Titanic.
You can take a guided tour through the manor, and at different points during the year, they also hold special events such as gothic evenings and tea parties.
If you want to take part in one of the most relaxing experiences ever, then you need to visit The Beer Spa. Here you can enjoy a glorious massage whilst holding a beer in hand. What could be better?
